WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON MY FIRST VISIT?

During your initial visit to the office, Dr. McGehee and his staff will perform a comprehensive examination in order to make sure that you are a good candidate for treatment and that there are no contraindications that may affect the chance of success of your treatment outcome. Upon arriving at the office, we will have some paperwork for you to fill out in the waiting room. We will then seat you in one of our treatment rooms where we will begin a series of questions to get to know you better. This will include questions about your medical and dental history. We also want to assess your level of anxiety and determine if you are in need of some type of sedation during the treatment process. In most cases this will require radiographs (a.k.a. x-rays). Once the examination is complete, Dr. McGehee will discuss with you his findings and options for treatment. He will be glad to provide his recommendations based on his expertise and experience, but in the end it is your decision as to what treatment you think is the best for you.

Please assist us at the time of your initial visit to the office by providing the following information:

  • Your referral slip and x-rays from your referring dentist.

  • A list of medications you are currently taking (please note that you can fill out your patient registration and medical history form on our website.)

  • If you have dental insurance, please bring any forms or insurance cards with you to the appointment.

Please Note: All patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation appointment.

Please notify the office if you have a medical condition or concern that may require medical consultation prior to dental treatment (e.g. artificial heart valves or joints, heart murmurs requiring pre-medication, severe diabetes, or hypertension).
